So naturally, they trashed her: Globe: Forced grins for Premier's sloppy move.

A short note on terminology: in Ontario they call the provincial government the OLA apparently, but spell it out as Legislative Assembly of Ontario; I guess it must be a latin thing, Olá, Olé!? They call themselves MPPs, which is Member of Provincial Parliament; why not MLA or MOLA? Is it just me or is English (as a second language of course) slipping in Canada? Whatever happened to the Globe Style Book? Acronyms used to be better explained in that paper.
May 12, Globe: Murray Campbell - Energy minister, aides clash over conservation.
The article is a little equivocal - Murray Campbell uses 'the sources say' and such like phrases - but, in a nutshell: Donna Cansfield wants less Nuclear Energy, more Conservation, and more Renewable Energy particularly small-scale; and the bureaucrats, led by the Deputy Minister, James Gillis, are digging in their heels and saying 'You can't do THAT!!" Check out Jay Williams' wonderful story 'Everyone Knows What Dragons Look Like'.

James Gillis looks more like a banker than a thinker, not that you can't be both; MBA from UofT and the big thing on his resume looks like TD Bank, and he keeps a low web profile.
E-mail Coordinates: Murray Campbell at the Globe and Mail, Donna Cansfield at OLA - Ontario Legislative Assembly; they generally don't seem to want e-mail at the Ontario government, I could find only this for James Gillis James Gillis c/o Betty Morgan, although this might work James Gillis, and nothing directly to Dalton McGuinty, the Premier, oh well.
