Here we have: Charles Taylor and Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo when Taylor was on his way to exile in a villa in Calabar, Nieria; Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Obasanjo working out the details; (Bush the younger also involved but not shown); Taylor on his way to jail at the UN court in Sierra Leone; his wife Jewel Howard-Taylor in Monrovia, where she is now part of Sirleaf's government; Chief UN prosecutor Desmond de Silva; the judge, Justice Richard Lussick; and Taylor at his first appearance before the court.
There is/was another woman involved; when they grabbed him at the border with Cameroon there was mention of a woman and child in the car along with bags full of cash but I have not been able to find any pictures or mention of her beyond that ...
He is pleading innocent (of course). We will be treated to another show trial like Saddam Hussein's. He doesn't deserve it; and the money could certainly be better spent; but this is as it must be. It might be better to move it to the Hague as has been suggested since there are apparently factions who still support him who may use the trial as some kind of excuse.
The prosecutor pointing his finger - very reminiscent of Taylor himself, who, in many pictures of him that I have seen is also pointing his finger.
