Fine, except that character is precisely learning to overcome problems and obstacles of whatever nature - learning how to do it and doing it again and again (since for me character has to do with things proven over time).
My own head is a mish-mash of images from movies; I use movies instead of Fluoxetine/Prozac, oh well. No character evidenced there at all eh? I remember a scene in Midnight Express when one of the men (Randy Quaid I think) describes himself, as he walks round and round a pillar in a room deep in the basement, as a 'bad machine'. About as good a vision of Hell as I have ever seen.
