Sources: Dictionary.com: cynic, Dictionary.com: cynical; not a great dictionary - based on Random House & Webster's which are both inferior to the OED, but who can afford the on-line Oxford English? Houaiss Dicionário Eletrônico; which is OK except that the (stupid) software keeps asking me to insert the CD, eventually it will wear out and I will have to buy a new one.
